5 Months!
Yikes, I really haven't been good about keeping up with this like I would like to. I want to have all of this information so that when I look back I can remember everything! Well, Tenley is almost 6 months old now (I can't even believe that.) But here's what she was doing this last month at 5 months!
*You have grown into size 2 diapers!
*Teething is an ongoing process! You live in a bib, because of the amount of drool that just drains from your mouth! I think you get this from my Uncle Ron! He was like that when he was a baby. That's what your Great Grandma Huber tells us!
*We started you on baby food this month! You've just tried carrots so far. You haven't really gotten the hang of swallowing the baby food yet, so it's a messy process right now!
*You're eating 7 oz. every 4 hours.
*At night you sleep from 8:30-6am. You wake up at 6 still very tired. I have to put your pacifier back in a few times, but eventually you fall back asleep til 7. That's when you eat again.
*You have been doing better on your tummy if I prop you up with a pillow.

*You have been doing better on your tummy if I prop you up with a pillow.
*You are trying so hard to sit up. When we lay you on your back to play or on the changing table you lift your head up and try and sit up. It's so funny to watch, you're so close to sitting unsupported. You can sit alone for about 10 seconds before you lose your balance.
*You are wearing all 6 month clothes. Even some of those pants are getting too short! I tried some 6-9 month clothes on you last night and they fit to my surprise! I just can't believe how much you're growing.
*You are starting to use your tongue more. You like to blow bubbles and make funny noises.
You're six month appointment is next week, I can't wait to see how much you've grown!

Kenya 3 Words
This was the video that I saw over 3 years ago that solidified why I wanted to go to Kenya. I just found it and after watching it realized that it has a completely different meaning to me now that I'm a mom. It hits different places of my heart now.

4 months (a little late)
I just realized that I never posted a 4 Month entry!! So here goes...

Tenley, you are 4 Months old!!
You are doing new things everyday, it's so much fun to watch you grow and experience the world around you. Your new favorite thing is your exersaucer. You love to bounce and play with all your toys there. You're making the cutest noises. Some times you'll just yell and scream for no reason, and then look up at me and smile! This has been a big month for us as a family. I went back to work part time, and it's been a big adjustment for me - but I'm sure for you too! You love hanging out at Auntie Joey's house though. You come home exhausted, so I know that you've had fun playing with Joey and Mady! Daddy also is transitioning this month. Due to cut back at work, he lost his job. It's been a scary time for us, but Tenley, you make us smile everyday and we know it's all going to be alright. He's interviewing for another job now.
*You are still in size one diapers, but quickly outgrowing them.
*You're 14 lbs.
*You are 25 3/4 inches tall. You're in the 90th percentile for your height! You're one tall girl!
*I think you're getting teeth. You like to cuddle more than usual and you are more fussy. Everything goes in your mouth and you are drooling like crazy!
*You are still on soy formula, and that seems to be working, so we'll stick with it.
*You're eating 6 oz. every 4 hours.
*You are the queen of catnaps. You just don't sleep for very long periods of time!
*At night you sleep from 8:30-6am. You wake up at 6 still very tired. I have to put your pacifier back in a few times, but eventually you fall back asleep til 7. That's when you eat again.
*You like being on your tummy a LITTLE bit more than you used to. It's still not your favorite by any means.
*You are wearing mostly 6 month clothes. You can still fit into some of your 3 month onesies, but it's a stretch. Your 6 month sleepers are starting to get short.
*You have such a fun personality. You are so smiley!

Update
I know I'm about due for an update. Truth is though, I don't think I've been very positive lately. 2011 has started out a little rough on Mike and I. But we're constantly reminded of all the little things that God has blessed us with. So there's no reason that I should be negative. Every morning I have to give it all up to God. I put everything in His hands, but right now it's a daily sacrafice.
One of those blessings includes my new job! I started working at the missionary church district office in Elkhart. I really love it! I work with amazing people who are so uplifting and are really encouraging me in my walk with Christ. There's definitely a reason as to why this job fell in my lap when it did!
Now, I know all you want to know about is Tenley! (Since the only people who read this are her great grandparents I'm sure!) She's doing great. Getting so big! She's been eating cereal from a spoon for the last couple weeks. She's so funny to watch do this. But she's doing well with it. She loves to sit up like a big girl (even though she needs some help). She has rolled over from her tummy to back, but can't quite figure out how to go the other way yet. She's very alert, shares lots of smiles, and will giggle every now and then. Everyday I feel like she does something new! The not so fun part of her getting bigger is that we think she's starting to get a tooth or two! She's drooling ALL THE TIME and seems to be a little fussier than normal. I'm wondering if her gums are starting to hurt a little bit. Poor thing!
